The performance gets its name from the hit reality show "So You Think You Can Dance." Vinokur's performance incorporates audience participation, upbeat music, occasional jaw-dropping dance moves, and stunning chemistry. Additionally, one hands-on science kit is shared by each family and they follow along with the Dancing Scientist's stage show. The kits are safe & non-toxic and include experiments such as making instant snow, gummy worm polymers, and amazing hydrophobic sand that doesn't get wet. The Dancing Scientist's show is perfect for companies in the technology, medical, engineering, or any science-related industry.

The show can accommodate large audiences of over 400 people and covers topics such as energy, light, acids & bases, 3D technology, alternative fuels, polymers, careers in science, and more. The show recently toured the country thanks to a corporate sponsorship fro Fotodyne Inc and was performed at the World Science Festival in New York City, Saint Louis Science Center, Maryland Science Center, and at the grand opening of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.

About the Dancing Scientist:

Jeffrey Vinokur was born in River Vale, NJ and was unofficially self-diagnosed with a rare condition called “Mad Scientists Syndrome” and claims this is the reason for his passion for science since birth. Science has always been Jeffrey’s passion starting from catch bugs as a kid, to mixing household chemicals during middle school, building robots in high school, studying the production of Cellulosic Ethanol as a biofuel, and now doing cancer research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jeffrey is so crazy about science he received a Biochemistry textbook for his 18th birthday and an embroidered lab coat for his 19th birthday. In the future he hopes to get a PhD in Biochemistry from one of the nation’s top graduate schools and become a renowned research professor.

Jeffrey performs the rare hip hop dance style of popping and has over 11 million YouTube views, the #1 most watched popping tutorials in the world, teaches his own classes, runs a dance crew, performs regularly on the college circuit, and released his own instructional DVDs! Prior to January 2010, Jeffrey was “Scientist by day, and dancer by night” until he realized be could spread his scientific message by combining science & dance into a high energy performance. Jeff premiered as the Dancing Scientist on Season 5 of NBC's hit TV show America's Got Talent where he advanced to the Top 100 acts in Las Vegas out of 70,000 nationwide auditions. Since the show, Jeff appears monthly on the CBS News in Madison, WI and has also been on FOX and CW News in Saint Louis, CBS News in Milwaukee, and Big Ten Network. Jeffrey is also spreading his message that science can be cool and fun around the country through his one of a kind performance, "So You Think You Can Do Science."
